Easter Weekend

My parents & Caroline came into town to celebrate Easter with us. It was an uneventful but fun weekend. We went over to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, walked on the Monon Trail, did some power washing and ate LOTS of (gluten-loaded) food. We missed you Becca!!!

Racing Action!

You'll notice in the pictures that Logan has 2 Easter outfits . . .There is an explanation for why he ended up in a pink bunny outfit . . .

Unfortunately Logan's digestive system works on a 4 day schedule. For 4 days he stores up an absurd amount of poop and on day 4 just lets it all go. It is impossible to contain all of the mess in a single diaper. Logan decided that church on Easter morning would be the most opportune time to complete his 4 day cycle. Without going into too many disgusting details, his sweet brown bunny overalls were ruined. I completely dropped the ball and didn't have a change of clothes with us. Fortunately the ladies in the nursery were able to help us out and someone offered their sweet, pink little bunny outfit - complete with a tail & ears. Matt was rounding and met us at church a little late. He did not appreciate walking into church and finding his son in a pink bunny outfit. At least Logan wasn't naked.

Even though she lets him play with plastic bags, his Aunt Caroline really does love him.

ROLL OVER! Logan rolled over! He was attempting to get a better view of Hurley and rolled over from his tummy to his back (twice!). Matt & I were both home and were able to watch. He did it again (once again to see his Hurley dog) the next morning. However, he won't roll to see me . . . Pictures from the "big" event are below.

Hurley Kisses & A New Skill

There have been 2 “big” events in our house this past week:

1. Logan has finally taken notice of Hurley.

2. Logan has also learned how to spit.

The other day I was coming down the stairs and could hear Logan in the living room laughing.When I came around the corner I saw Hurley licking Logan all over while Logan just sat there giggling and loving it. Logan has also started “talking” to Hurley and will even reach his arms out towards the dog when he walks by. Matt & I thought this was the sweetest, cutest, most endearing thing until we realized that Logan never reaches for either of us like that . . .

The first day Logan discovered his hidden spitting talent he spent the entire day practicing (perhaps his southern roots were kicking in and he was practicing for a future of dipping – let’s hope not). Fortunately now that it’s a few days later, he has toned it down a little bit. The spitting by itself wouldn’t be so bad if Hurley didn’t think it was his sole purpose in life to lick anything that comes from or is near Logan’s mouth. The sound of Logan spitting is like a ringing dinner bell for Hurley. This coupled with the fact that Logan now loves Hurley and all of his kisses creates one happy, dog-saliva covered baby. There are times (usually before a bath) that I just let it go but then other times I watch Hurley in his bed licking parts of his body that shouldn’t be licked and I get a little grossed out thinking about that same tongue on my baby’s face . . . The videos and pictures below aren't too exciting but they cover all of the excitement in our house: spitting & dog kisses.

Other good news: It’s been storming since early this morning which means that Hurley is scared and has been hiding in the closet all day. It makes my life much easier! J
